Why Templates Matter
If you're listing a lot of similar items, you're probably repeating the same work over and over. QuickList templates let you create reusable listing configurations that automatically apply your preferences, preset text, and AI instructions to every listing. This allows you to streamline your listing process and ensure consistency across your listings.
What Are QuickList Templates?
Templates in QuickList are saved configurations that automatically apply your preferences when creating listings. They can include:
- Title Templates: Pre-defined title structures with AI instructions
- Description Templates: Preset text combined with AI instructions
- Shipping Settings: Default shipping policies, weights, and package dimensions
- Category Settings: Preferred categories and store categories
- Condition Descriptions: Default condition notes that appear in every listing
Title Templates: Create Consistent and Optimized Titles
Title templates let you define the structure and style of your titles while using AI to fill in product-specific details. This ensures every title follows your preferred format while being optimized for search.
How Title Templates Work
Title templates use a special syntax where you can include [instructions] brackets. Anything inside these brackets becomes an AI instruction that tells QuickList how to generate that part of the title. I sell a lot of clothing, so I have a clothing template that looks like this:
Example Title Template:
When I use this template, QuickList AI will generate a unique title for each item following my instruction, ensuring consistency while optimizing for each specific product. For me, this creates consistent structure for all of my clothing listing titles in my preferred format.

Description Templates: Combine Preset Text with AI
Similar to title templates, description templates allow you to prompt the AI for your preferred description format and/or use your own preset text. This is useful for details that you might want to include in every listing (like return policies, shipping info, or standard disclaimers).
Description Modes
QuickList offers three description modes that control how your template and AI work together:
- QuickList AI only: Default QuickList AI generates the entire description
- Template only: Uses only your preset template text and/or AI instructions
- QuickList AI + Template: Combines the default QuickList AI description with your preset template text and/or AI instructions
Description templates use the same special syntax where you can include [instructions] brackets for AI instructions. Following my clothing template example, I have a description template that uses the QuickList AI + Template mode. I don't use instructions but I do use preset text. It looks like this:
Example Description Template:
When I use this template, QuickList AI will generate it's default description for each item following my preset text, ensuring consistency while optimizing for each specific product. For me, this creates consistent description for all of my clothing listings in my preferred format.

- Package Details: Pre-fill weight and dimensions for items you sell regularly
